My first day of Medication

by hivtae @ 2007-04-18 - 17:26:43

After being diagnosed as HIV+ just over 1 year ago it was decided by myself and my doc that i should start taking medication.I was prescribed truvada and stocrim.
I have been terrified about starting meds beause of all the horror stories ive read so when i took my first dose on Monday night i pesume i expected to projectile vomit and spend the night in the bathroom. Actually as it turned out it felt like i was off my face and i got the giggles then i had the most amazing dream. Although ive felt quite tired over the past couple of days im determined im not going to get down about it and just get on with it. The past couple of days ive just felt like im on a comedown but nothing too serious. Lets hope thats how it continues.
Im from the uk but live in a foreign country were although i speak the language its quite difficult when it comes to medical problems. I sometimes wish i had my mates around me that i could speak to about it or even some sort of support network but hey we've all got our problems. This is also the first blog ive ever written so give me a break if im not doing it right

any thoughts?

I think you are very brave (thats not meant in a patronising way). Your outlook and attitude is what will get you through it. You sound like a strong person. Good on you and the best of luck!!

ps. Is there no possibility of moving closer to your friends and family?? Everyone needs a support network.

good start to blogging.

it is a perfect place to share all your thoughts with very little chance of being identified. (always better that way).

many people on this blog site will be here for anything on your mind. (and a few bad apples but just ignore them).

good luck with the medication
